Full Moon Fever

It was the night of August 9th 2025. I was fishing a favorite lake of mine with my good buddy Daniel Goldsworthy. I knew the bite would be good, but we did not expect the absolute spanking we gave the lake that night!

5 minutes into the night, with the sun still shining bright, Daniel hooked a gorgeous 26.5” walleye on a 6” Depth Raider, in a pattern we were both super excited to try. It just had that magic flash to it…

With Daniel setting the tone for the night, we proceeded to just clobber the fish. We caught 27 fish that night, including one musky, 3 smallmouth (one was a 4.5lb beast), and 23 walleye with the largest being that 26.5” fish. Most were 15-20”. We really put on a clinic, those full moons always get my heart pumping just a little faster in anticipation of what’s to come!
